Cari is from Clayton, North Carolina. She graduated from Clayton High School and attended Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina on the Hunter-Strickland full academic scholarship, Presidential Scholarship, and Atlantic Sun Athletic Scholarship. While at Campbell University, Cari majored in Trust and Investment Management, obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration. Knowing that she wanted to go to law school, Cari moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 2006 and began her legal education at Stetson University College of Law.
While at Stetson, Cari was a Stetson Student Ambassador, Secretary for the Florida Association of Women Lawyers at Stetson, Team Member of the Winning Team for Stetson’s Advanced Trial Competition in 2008, a Family Law Judicial Intern, and a Certified Legal Intern. Cari graduated number seven in her class at Stetson in 2008.
